Powder Processing & Technology provides contract powder spray drying services using rotary or nozzle atomization. We have a full range of spray dryers to handle any size toll powder processing requirement.

Slurry feedstock can be generated by us, or customer can supply pre-slurried material. We work with any ceramic or inorganic powder material and process using our top-of-the-line spray drying equipment to alter the size of a powder as well as blend additives into powders. Please contact us for more information on our spray drying services. PPT can classify spray dry output to your granule size distribution and potentially recycle off-size powder.

Capabilities

Powder Processing Capabilities		We are able to spray dry ceramic and inorganic powders down to 50 µm granule size. When altering the size of powders, we can create a slurry or a slurry can be provided to us. All additive mixing is performed with the highest level of precision for optimal repeatability. Our customers can rest assure that all spray dried powder materials will be of consistent quality and composition from batch to batch.

Powder Analyzation Services		At Powder Processing & Technology, our laboratory staff will analyze the granule size distribution of the spray dried powder as well as provide a variety of other testing services upon customer request. Please see our Analytical Laboratory page for further information.

In-House Technology and Equipment		Spray Drying Equipment: 20' Niro Spray Dryer Slurry feed to nozzles or wheel atomizer 1 to 5 nozzles capability 1000 psi maximum pump pressure capability with nozzles 1,500 lb/hr throughput at 5 Nozzles with a bulk density of 1.50 g/cm³ and a median granule size of 80 - 140 microns. Wheel atomization capability 12,500 wheel RPM maximum 3,000 lb/hr throughput at 12,500 RPM with a bulk density of 1.50 g/cm³ and a median granule size of 60 - 120 microns. 18' Niro Spray Dryer Slurry feed to nozzles or wheel atomizer 1 to 5 nozzles capability 800 psi maximum pump pressure capability with nozzles 1,400 lb/hr throughput at 5 Nozzles with a bulk density of 1.50 g/cm³ and a median granule size of 80 - 150 microns. Wheel atomization capability 12,500 wheel RPM maximum 2,000 lb/hr throughput at 12,500 RPM with a bulk density of 1.50 g/cm³ and a median granule size of 60 - 120 microns. 16' Niro Spray Dryer Slurry feed to wheel atomizer Wheel atomization capability 14,000 wheel RPM maximum 2,000 lb/hr throughput at 14,000 RPM with a bulk density of 1.50 g/cm³ and a median granule size of 60 - 120 microns. 10' Anhydro Flat Bottom Dryer Slurry feed to wheel atomizer Wheel atomization capability 20,000 wheel RPM maximum 400 lb/hr throughput at 20,000 RPM with a bulk density of 1.50 g/cm³ and a median granule size of 50 - 80 microns. 9' 6" Anhydro Spray Dryer Slurry feed to nozzle 1 nozzle capability 700 psi maximum pump pressure capability with nozzles 400 lb/hr throughput at 1 Nozzle with a bulk density of 1.50 g/cm³ and a median granule size of 80 - 150 microns.
